Interval Data Systems, Inc. was founded because of a need in the
marketplace to understand energy usage on an operational,
maintenance, and cost reduction basis. Cofounders Bill Gnerre and Greg Cmar
started IDS in the fall of 2003 with the belief that in the near
future, all facilities managers will use data to manage energy
consumption and costs. And EnergyWitness™ was born.
It has been impossible for facilities organizations to effectively
manage their utilities and building operations costs because there
has been very little factual information available to base decisions
on. Costs associated with utilities, building control systems, and
their associated equipment has been impossible to monitor due to the
lack of available data. Of the data that does exist, only one to two
percent is usedthe rest has been thrown away because it was too hard and time
consuming to deal with.
EnergyWitness provides a
360-degree view of a facility/campus that contains all the facts
about operations, replacing today's guesswork with actionable
information. This new approach to Enterprise Energy Management
Systems (EEMS) separates
IDS from traditional EEMS providers
such as metering and building automation companies. EnergyWitness
is not an extension of these traditional systems nor a competitor; rather it is a
system that encompasses them and provides complimentary capabilities.
IDS solutions will enhance the value and improve returns from energy
investments as well as extending equipment life, reducing
operational energy costs, and creating a positive cash flow. In addition to complementing
installed metering and building automation systems IDS introduces an entirely new set
of capabilities, applications and financial benefits never thought
possible.
Management Team
As leaders of the company, the IDS management team brings extensive
software development and building/utilities operational experience.
Their expertise in energy systems and software technology provide an
unmatched ability to deliver EEMS products and services.
