EWViewer gives you a global view of all source and consumed energy
interval data across your entire campus or facility. It
provides instant access to current and historical interval data, allowing you
to find actionable information within your energy systems. You can
quickly monitor operational patterns,
compare current and historical performance, and uncover problems and
inefficiencies that are wasting energy and money.
You Can't Manage What You Don't Know About
Your Building Automation Systems (BAS) and other energy systems are generating a huge
amount of data, most of which gets thrown away. In fact, about 98%
(yes, 98%) of the data is typically discarded. You need all of that
data, and you need to see it in combined views to perform
diagnostics that go more than skin deep and turn up actionable
information. With
EnergyWitness™, data is collected through
EWDataCollector, and
stored in
EWDataWarehouse, to give you a holistic view of your operations
through EWViewer.
It's instant access to every one of the thousands of operational
control points and measurements throughout your facility, taken
every 15 minutes, allowing you to view performance over the past
day, week, month, year, or any other time interval. By standardizing
all data sampling to 15 minute intervals (even energy costs so you
can see real-time pricing), you get a consistent view. A single
chart with multiple related trend lines (from one or more sources) makes sense when the data is
from consistent, time synchronized intervals. Data is presented graphically for instant
recognition of potential problems that require investigation and
correction.
Diagnose at the "Speed of Thought"
Uncovering a problem is a of a stream of consciousness process.
Once you see your operational data, you can easily recognize
abnormal behaviors or undesired fluctuations. But to
diagnose the
problem, you need more than thatyou need to overlay other
system components for that time period, zoom in on the problem
area, and be
able to backtrack over time to find the root cause. And we mean the
real root cause so you can start fixing problems instead of
just treating symptoms. EWViewer puts all that data at your fingertips. You have it
now, not an hour from now, or tomorrow. Your investigation and issue
identification happens at the speed of thoughta process that's
orders of magnitude faster (that's not an exaggeration!) than relying on trend logs.

Data Tree: partial list showing chiller data---note data hierarchy and tabs
for other views.

Zoom View: close-up of Delta T chartnote ability to scroll in both
directions while in zoom view.

Printed Report: actual data values showngraphs and Excel export
also available.

Property Box: shows details of tonnage calculation for primary
chilled water loop.

EWViewer Highlights
- Graphical View: The main window provides you with a graphical
view of your energy system. The graphs show data points at 15 minute
intervals over whatever time period you have chosen (days, weeks,
months, etc.).
- Data Tree:
The Data Tree organizes the data so you can get at it fast.
You can create multiple, redundant views, perhaps one based on system
(chiller, cooling tower, air handling system, primary and secondary
cooling loops, Delta Ts, etc.) and another based on location (building,
floor, department, etc.). Each Data Tree will allow you to drill
down through its hierarchy to just the data you need. This allows
monitoring tasks to easily be assigned to the energy and control engineers in
charge of that area of your campus or facility.
- Drag and Drop
Trend Lines: Viewing or overlaying new data
trends from the Data Tree is as simple as drag and drop. Just drag
it onto the graph window and up comes your new datainstantly.
Since all trend lines are available all the time, you never need
to start trending all over again just to add one that was missing.
- Blinding Speed: The EWViewer displays and manipulates trends in just
seconds, which enables the grouping of trend lines to diagnose and
identify operational issues. A one week history with eight
different trend lines can be assembled in a second. That's 5,600
separate intervals that you can display and evaluate in just
a few seconds.
- Zoom View: Once you see something in the graph window that
warrants a closer look, you can zoom from week view to see just a
day or two. Use your mouse to select the area in
question and EWViewer will instantly give you as much detail as you
need both horizontally (time) and vertically (values).
- Time Period Selection: You can define any number of preset
time periods and simply click and choose what you want to see. Again,
the graphs update immediately so you can easily move forward and
backward in time, continuing your monitoring
and analysis.
- Printed Reports: If you need a printed version of the
data you're looking at, it's simple. You can get a printed
report showing the graphs or the underlying data values. You can
even output the data into an Excel spreadsheet.
- Saved Charts: Found a particular trend chart of your operation that
you want to look at every day as part of your standard system
monitoring? Just save the chart and all its elements, data sources,
time period, etc. will be just a click away.
- Property Description: Information about the data
being viewed is displayed, such as HEGIS and FAMIS codes. This contains some descriptive
information from the control point, but also allows you to add
comments of your own.
- Graph Legend: The legend gives you a color-coded key to each
trend line. It's moveable so it will never block important
data. You can click on any item within the legend to highlight that
line of the graph. There's also a graphics control area to select
different characteristics.
